A 2005 update gave the 7 Series some new exterior design, a more user friendly i-Drive, and update engines. This version had a diesel model but was offered for a limited time. Do take note all models are long wheelbase ones.

This particular version of the 7 Series gained controversy no thanks to its styling and the i-Drive mechanism. Locally, there were short wheelbase models that were available but there are rare. Most 7 Series models sold are long wheelbase ones, with some features being exclusive to LWB models.
